Slow Cooker Red Cabbage

A quick and easy way to cook red cabbage.

Ingredients

  • 1 red cabbage
  • 2 onions
  • 1 orange, zested
  • 3 tablespoons soft brown sugar (45ml)
  • 175 ml vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Coarsely shred the cabbage - about ½cm slices
  • Thickly slice and then chop the onions
  • Zest the orange
  • Put all the ingredients in the slow cooker on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 8 hours
    (Red cabbage, onions, sugar, vinegar, orange zest, salt)

Red Cabbage can be kept warm for at least two hours before serving.
